Why do people usually renew their vows?
There are many answers to this question and it completely depends on the couple! A couple of reasons why couples renew their vows include being married at a young age when they didn’t have the money to properly celebrate, recently overcoming a hard time in their relationship, defeating a big obstacle together such as an illness, or wanting to celebrate a milestone, such as a 20, 30, or 50-year anniversary.
What happens at a vow renewal ceremony?
During the ceremony, vows are exchanged between you and your partner. You can choose to write new vows or use the same vows as when you got married. Then, rings will be exchanged, either old or new. After the ceremony, there is usually food, drinks, dancing, and socializing with your close friends and family!
What should I wear?
You can wear white if you want, but since this is not an actual wedding, most people don’t wear a wedding dress. It is common for the bride to wear a gown in their favorite color, but it’s completely up to you!
Do I need to be escorted down the aisle?
Usually, the bride and groom walk alone from opposite sides of the room and meet in the middle.
Where should the ceremony be held?
Where the ceremony is held depends on how many people you are inviting. You can choose to have the ceremony in your own home, but if you want to have a big event there are event spaces in Westchester that have the space for a proper vow renewal ceremony and reception.
