Recently, some thieves in Atlanta used a U-Haul to steal from a Walmart storage container and later crash it. The criminals broke into the overflow portable storage containers behind Walmart on Howell Mill Road, using a U-Haul to load up over $4,000 worth of electronics, according to the police report. However, this is just an incident amongst the hundreds that occur across the nation on regular basis.

In this case, the police say there were at least seven people involved and, although they crashed the U-Haul on Howell Mill Road and 17th Street, right after the theft, the suspects still managed to get away. This was the second incident in two days and the crash left a woman slightly injured as the thieves crashed their U haul of stolen goods into her.
While further investigations are ongoing, the police say this crew could be connected to another crime of the same nature, which occurred the night before. For those people and businesses keeping all or at least some of their assets in a storage container, establishing and improving security protocols is absolutely necessary to guarantee their assets will be safe and they will reduce their losses.
These delinquents are targeting businesses and individuals but, worse, they are bold enough to pursue this criminal activity, two nights in a row which should be enough warning to make business owners and individuals alike think twice about upgrading the security system of their shipping and portable storage containers.
